Why Your Gazebo is Still Cold (And How to Actually Fix It)
If you’ve ever tried using a regular space heater in a gazebo, you know the struggle. You turn it on, the air gets warm for a second, and then—poof—it all floats straight up and disappears through the roof. It’s a waste of electricity and you’re still shivering. That’s why we went with short-wave infrared. Instead of trying to fight the wind by heating the air, these 1500W units work more like the sun. They send heat directly to your skin, your clothes, and your furniture. You feel the warmth instantly, regardless of where the breeze is blowing. No more waiting around. One of the best parts? There’s no “warm-up” period. You don’t have to sit there for twenty minutes waiting for an oil tank to get hot. You flip the switch, and seconds later, you’re toasted. It’s fast. Really fast. We mount these to the ceiling for a reason. By angling the emitter, we create a “cone” of heat that hits you right on the shoulders and head. It feels natural. A couple of things to keep in mind before you install them. First, these things pull a lot of power. You can’t just plug a dozen of them into one cheap power strip or you’ll be tripping your breaker every five minutes. Make sure your wiring can actually handle a continuous 1500W load. Also, remember that infrared is all about “line of sight.” If you step out from under the heater, you’re going to feel the chill again pretty quickly. Because of that, you really need to think about where people actually sit. Map out your chairs and tables first, then place the heaters right above them. That’s the only way to make sure nobody ends up in a cold spot.
