
Why These Bathroom Heaters Actually Stop Mold
Most people think a bathroom heat lamp is just there to keep you from shivering while you’re drying off. But from where we sit on the engineering side, it’s more about controlling the room. We use specific infrared spectrums in our IP65 heaters to do more than just warm you up—they actually fight mold before it even starts.
The trick to drying out a room
We use something called short-wave infrared (SWIR) emitters. Now, unlike those old-school heaters that just warm up the air, SWIR goes deeper. It hits the surface of your walls and ceilings and makes the water molecules vibrate. When you install these in a steamy bathroom, that radiant heat pushes moisture out of porous surfaces way faster than it can settle. It basically kicks the dampness out of the room. Instead of leaving your walls soggy and inviting mold spores to move in, the heat clears the way.
Keeping it waterproof (and safe)
Water and electricity are a bad mix. Obviously. That’s why we build these to IP65 standards. It’s a fancy way of saying the guts of the heater are sealed tight against dust and splashes. But there’s a catch. Because the unit is sealed so well to keep water out, the heat stays trapped inside the chassis. It can get pretty hot. Just make sure whatever you’re mounting it to can handle the heat—you don’t want to warp your plastic trim or melt any adhesives.
